Water mitigation refers to the emergency actions taken to stop damage from continuing to spread, including extraction, drying, containment and removal of non-salvageable materials. Water restoration refers to the rebuild phase that follows, returning the property to its pre-loss condition. Many contractors specialize in one or the other, which creates a handoff gap that extends the overall project timeline and adds coordination burden for the property owner.
